Vanessa grew up in a home full of energy in the Sunset Hills neighborhood, right next to where the old Holiday Park Pool used to be. Her mother was born and raised in the Philippines and Lawrence was a natural fit for her father’s German heritage. Her Filipino grandmother immigrated here shortly after Vanessa was born. She had no education, spoke little to no English, yet was able to purchase and pay off her home. She taught Vanessa the importance of family, hard work, and to enjoy the simple things in life.

They say home is where your story begins, but that’s not the only thing that makes Lawrence home. Every year her family would host at least one international student from the university, many of which are still part of the family. The exposure to so many different cultures and backgrounds is part of what made Vanessa who she is today. Located conveniently between Kansas City and Topeka, Lawrence also has a close-knit community that is incredibly proud of its local businesses that make its historic downtown so unmistakably unique.

Her 10+ years of experience in the service industry helped her develop valuable leadership skills and realize her passion for connecting with customers. She lives by the words of Bren Brown: “Integrity is choosing courage over comfort. It’s choosing what is right over what is fun, fast, or easy. It’s choosing to practice your values rather than simply professing them.”

Vanessa’s real estate career joins her desire to assist others in making their best decision with her passion for human connection. She truly believes that we can only begin to thrive once we decide to connect with others authentically. Her leadership skills and tenacity give her a distinct advantage when assisting clients with the transaction process – all the way to a successful close. Her goal is to work tirelessly for each client and develop a lifelong relationship, so the next time they want to buy or sell, or just need some genuine advice, Vanessa is their call.
