Welcome to the Lawrence Board of REALTORS®! 

New Member Orientation will cover topics that will be pertinent and helpful to you as a new member. 

Orientation Schedule:

• 8:45am-9:00am – Arrive early for breakfast provided by Truity Credit Union
• 9:00am-10:00am – Required Orientation Topics
  • Required Topics will include information regarding the Lawrence Board of REALTORS® and the Lawrence MLS, as well as Member Benefits for the NAR, KAR, & the LBOR; the REALTOR® Code of Ethics, Fair Housing, and REALTOR® Safety.
• 10:00am-11:00am – Roundtable Discussions by Topic
  • Roundtable Topics will include additional business resources and tools that will help you in your business.
• 11:00am-12:00pm – Panel Discussion – Startup Adventures
  • The Panel Discussion will feature the startup adventures of some successful LBOR Agents in their first few years in the industry. The panel discussion is a great opportunity for Q&A that will help you by learning through other’s experiences and will help you as you launch your Real Estate career.
• 12:00pm-12:30pm – Stick around for just a bit and enjoy lunch provided by Truity Credit Union

You are also required to complete the New Member Code of Ethics Course at least 2 days prior to attending New Member Orientation. A free course is offered at https://www.nar.realtor/code-of-ethics/training

Please note that attendance of Primary Members of the LBOR is mandatory. The Executive Officer's watch will be used for the starting time, and the Board of Directors will rule on any tardiness or missed sessions. Doors will be closed at 9:00 a.m. Admittance will not be allowed after 9:00 a.m. unless approved by the Board of Directors. Cell phones must be turned off during these sessions. Calls and necessary business can be attended to during the break. THERE IS A $50.00 FINE FOR THE 1^st MISSED OPPORTUNITY TO ATTEND THIS SEMINAR. Fines increase for each missed seminar: 2^nd - $100, 3^rd - $150, thereafter - $200 for each missed seminar.
